Brief introduction of the college

Burhanpur, the most ancient and historical city of Nimad Achal, is situated on the banks of Tapti river. The historical importance of this city is that citizens of all communities live here. Here is the famous Renuka Mata Temple of Hindu religion, Rokarkhiya Hanuman Temple and in the middle of the city, there is Jama Masjid on whose foundation stone there is description of dates, constellations etc. in Sanskrit.

The religious place of Bohra community is Dargah-e-Hakimi, which people come from different cities of India to see. Gurudwara is the religious place of Sikhs. Such a historical city as Burhanpur has been the center of ancient medical practice. The land here has been blessed to give birth to eminent personalities. Burhanpur Ayurveda College is one of the ancient Ayurveda College of Madhya Pradesh.

Which was started by Pandit Shivnath Shastri in 1958. This college was taken over by the government in January 1975. Earlier the college was affiliated to Dr. Harisingh Gaur University, Sagar. After which there has been a connection with Devi Ahilya University, Indore and from the year 2018 with Madhya Pradesh Medical Sciences University, Jabalpur.

Aims & purposes

To promote Ayurveda and to produce graduates with basic principles of Ayurveda along with scientific knowledge as per the basic principles of Ayurveda. Who is fully capable of completing the work in the medical and health services of the country.

Qualification for admission

It is necessary to have passed 12th class with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and as per rules the examination is to be conducted by NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test).

In this college, permission has been given by NCISM, NEW DELHI to give admission to a total of 56 students in BAMS First Professional for the year 2023–24.
